Third installment of a series of caches to lead to the wonders of Griffith Park.

How much do I love caching in Griffith Park? Well, apparently a bunch and I want to share the joy with you.

This short series of three caches is a great introduction to the south side of the park, Bronson Canyon. This area was fortunately undamaged by the 2007 fire, but I noticed a lot of caches have been archived over the years.

Cache is a cammoed large pill bottle.

Be sure to check out GOOGLE MAPS SATELLITE IMAGES, to see how the nearby area was devastated by the fire.

We looked everywhere, the GPS actually brought us directly to a fallen log that seemed like a perfect hiding spot but nothing. We found a full can of Guinness, cheers Arthur!!! kept walking around and bumped into a cammoed pill-battle-cap which obviously belonged to the cache but its not there, does that count as finding it :-) Recommend rechecking and possibly putting a new cache.

Maintenance Cache 3

There were a bunch of film trucks in the adjacent parking lot, and a security guard was eying me the whole time. Perhaps I felt too self-conscious to really do a thorough search, but a quick peek in the expected spots turned up nothing. Not surprisingly, my GPS was very jumpy given the hills and tree cover, so that didn't help either. Maybe next time.
