Geocache Description:

This CITO Event is sponsored by Reynolds Community College.

How will you make a difference today?  Geocachers, the Reynolds Community, friends, family, and the general public are invited to a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) geocaching event at Deep Run Park.

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

Cache In Trash Out (also known as CITO) is the environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!  These events focus on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, planting trees and vegetation, and trail building.

Reynolds Community College is committed to making a positive impact on the environment by implementing responsible practices for the conservation of energy and natural resources and the reduction of waste on our campuses.  Through our Reynolds…Naturally initiative, we seek to educate faculty, staff, students, visitors and the larger community on environmental responsibility, and to foster an understanding of the importance of making environmentally responsible decisions.
