The cache is not at the listed coordinates. See the picture
above for everything you need to know to seek the cache. The final
stage is a painted ammo box so bring some trade items.
The cache is on NC Gamelands, so:
- Wear blaze orange during hunting season
- Consider purchasing a hunting license and Game Lands permit,
even if you are not a hunter. The money generated by licenses helps
contribute to the protection and management of over 2 million acres
of Game Lands in the state.

You will need what you learned in locating stage 1 to find stage
2 of the cache.
Additional notes thanks to First Finder feedback:
- Cache coordinates might be on the outside of the stage 1
container, but if you open it up you will find further instructions
on reaching the cache without getting wet, trespassing, or getting
too scratched up.
- There is low-growing poison ivy between the two stages. If you
won't be going straight to a shower afterward you might want to
wear long pants.
update - 2005/01/14:
After periods of heavy rain the final stage of this cache will be
at best a lot less fun to access and at worst, require a strong
sense of adventure and a small boat. Just kidding about the boat.
If you follow the instructions and there is still a large body of
water between you and the cache, it's probably best to let the
waters recede and try again later. If you want to check before you
go, check out
the Gage height for the nearby water station and see if it's
higher than normal.
note:If you plan to look for the
Prior intrigue: Decimal Places cache, you will want to take
note of the symbols on the top of this cache container.
note:This cache is inextricably linked with the
1101010's Extra Mile #1 travel bug. Now that someone has found
the bug, it might not be checked into this cache. This should not
deter you from looking for it, if you are so inclined.
