Geocache Description:

Cache container is NOT at the posted coordinates. While the container's size unfortunately doesn't allow room for a stamp, please treat this mystery as you would treat many letterbox cache hunts….

In certain parts of the world, monkeys can be mischievous and while Sherando Park is certainly not the habitat one would expect to find such, it seems one was vacationing here recently…much to this CO's dismay (or maybe thanks?)

What's the story you might wonder? Well, it was a cool summer day and I was walking down the path, minding my own business, thinking of where to hide a cache when all of a sudden with teasing chatter, something ripped the bison tube I was carrying right out my hand!

"Stop thief," I called. "I C you! Don't disappear down that trail!"

But the culprit didn't listen! It instead gave a screech and rushed out of sight. With the thought in mind that the path ahead could be easier by bike (but, alas, it was at home!), I still set off in pursuit, turning off the pavement and following the dirt. The path got gravely for a bit and then right about when the ground smoothed out -- there he was!

Peering Squarely at me, he waited down the path. "I C you!" I screamed again, rushing forward to the tree upon which he was attached. But then with one last chatter, he ducked quickly behind and much to my dismay disappeared completely from sight.

Knowing my pursuit had to stop there, I let out a sigh. My hopes for placing a cache would have to wait until another day, but then something hanging caught my eye.

Ha! Perhaps my thief wasn't a thief after all! I'm now thinking he was just a mischievous cache hider instead. But now the question is: how do I get it down??

This cache is located in Sherando Park. Please search only during the park's listed hours of operation: 8 am until dusk.
