How Geocaching Works
One of the coolest sites in Montgomery County.
Located in the Forest Glen area, was part of the U.S. Army Walter Reed Annex, but totally accessible by the public. Parking and access are a bit difficult with construction. Read logs for the latest in best approaches.
This magical place is rich in history, and visual interest. A favorite for almost every cacher who visits (just read the logs). Some of the buildings on-site date back to the 1880s, with most built prior to 1940s. It started as a housing development, then a hotel was built. Later it became a Women's finishing college, and then during World War II, The US Army Annexed it to be a rehabilitation hospital for soldiers. As for the cache, the container is a small clear rubbermaid type with a white lid with handwriting on top. There's plenty of free parking nearby, and pathways that'll lead you close to the cache. Just be careful retrieving and replacing the container.
GPSR's tends to jump around a lot, I've added some coordinates from cachers who found the cache.
