Drive east from Gold Bar; south (right) onto Proctor Creek Road-FS Rd. 62, N47 49 146; W121 36 643; go 5.7 miles to yellow gate N 47 46 668 W 121 39 988. Do NOT drive through or block the gate. Park off road. Leave room for other cars to turn around. Best to follow the logging road. Cache is at top of a hill in crack on south side of a large, summit rock.
This is an active logging road, so be alert for trucks and logging activity. Pick a clear day - the views are great. You can see the Cascades, including Mt. Persis, Mt. Index, Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier. Allow plenty of time to get there and back. A Green Trails map or one downloaded from your computer would be helpful. Cache is located in plastic box.It contains a coffee discount card, camera, notebook, pencil, compass, carabiner, WA state map, Edgar Martinez baseball card, calculator, shell lei. Please take a picture or two with the camera and leave the camera in the cache. If you want me to send you copies of your pictures, leave the numbers of the pictures you took and your name and address in the notebook.
