How Geocaching Works
The cache is a micro located along the Iowa River in lower City Park, Iowa City. The cache is log-only; bring a pen. This is a high-traffic area for bikes and pedestrians. Extreme stealth required. Please replace this cache carefully in the exact location that you find it.
During normal river levels, the cache is family-friendly (for older kids). However, keep an eye on the kids during high water levels. Be aware that poison ivy is unexpectedly in the area, but the cache is accessible without the need to come in contact with it.
City Park features a public outdoor swimming pool, numerous picnic areas, nice playgrounds, bocce courts, a small amusement park (nearby) with five different rides for smaller children, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a scenic bike path, and nearby, an outdoor theater.
Parking is available close to ground zero. Iowa City park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hunt this cache at your own risk, but most importantly, have fun!
