The above coordinates are not the location of this
cache but rather a waypoint to the cache.
In fact, the location at the above coordinates is
actually a wireless Hot Spot (Wifi 802.11b) whose
broadcast SSID is "GCXGKR". Once you associate
your wireless laptop or PDA to it, you can then enter
a certain URL in your browser that will take you to
a web page containing instructions on finding the
the final cache.
Sounds easy but it's not as the access point is
128 bit WEP encrypted. It's your goal to put together
the WEP code string. This is accomplished by answering
a series of questions whose answers are derived by
visiting 14 waypoints in the City of Lincoln.
If you are successful in putting together the WEP
code correctly, you can associate with the AP, view
the web page in your browser using the URL
wardriving.geocaching.com and be on your way to
solving the final.
The AP and server environment for this cache is private.
Explicit permission to access is granted by the cache
owner. The network will assign DHCP and DNS entries to
the client as required. General internet access through
the network is not supported. Please do not attempt to
associate to other AP's in the area.
The coordinates listed above are optimal for accessing
the AP. Its antenna is a high gain narrow beam "pringle
can" type that features very low divergence. It is aimed
directly at the posted coordinates. Please be aware that
signal strength declines rapidly if one deviates from
the above coordinates.
This was originally a premium members only cache.
