This cache is located in Yunhai Line Station, 4.5 kilometer of Nenggao Cross-ridge Historic Trail.
All of the watch posts along the western portion of the Nenggao Cross-ridge Trail, with the exception of the Wushe branch and the Mahaipu watch posts, were burned by the Atayals during the Wushe incident-the watch posts at Tianying, Hege, Boalun, Tunyuan, Weishang and Nenggao.
After the rebellion was suppressed the Japanese police rebuilt all of the watch posts and added two more "Fushihjian" and "Songyuan" to strengthen their control. When the Weishang watch post was rebuilt it was relocated to a place about one kilometer west of the original location, on the ridgeline of Mt. Weishang. This is the location of today's Yunhai Line Station, which was established in 1950, after Taiwan was restored to China, to carry on line maintenance work.

事件結束後日警重建越嶺道上的駐在所, 且為加強山地控制, 增設富士見與松原兩駐在所. 其中尾上駐在所重建後的位置移至原舊址西邊約一公里的尾上山稜線上, 即現今之雲海保線所所在位置. 民國39年臺灣光復後, 尾上駐在所隨著山地警備事務的解除與台電東西向輸電線路的興建而更名為雲海保線所, 並肩負線路維修與保養工作迄今.
