tealeaf: After seeing how nice this trail is now, we decided to keep going for another cache to the south. As we got close, the landscape looked different so we thought we'd check this one and maybe up the terrain as the dredged mud makes it harder to get to. Couldn't find it ourselves; it may be buried as we couldn't even find the hole in the tree where it used to live. Had a good run.

Geocache Description:

This is another cache in the Shining River series. Park in the Shining River parking lot at the SW corner of Rio Grande Blvd where it crosses Paseo. See attached photos.

This is an easy find along a dirt service road. You pick up this road at the site of the "sitting duck" cache. There does not seem to be much service along here and you will share the road with prickly vegetation which you can avoid. The cache is a few feet off the trail. Due to the trees, the coords may be a bit wonky but you should have no problem. There is a logbook, a pencil and some small swag. The container is not cammoed so be sure it is covered with bark when you leave. The terrain is 2 only because it is more than a half mile round trip to the parking lot, otherwise it would be a 1 1/2; if I can do it, you can do it. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!
