Poet Tree...
There are three species of large trees that watch over this cache, and a very scenic lake at it’s feet. Can you name the three species?
We love the idea of inspiring and reading original or published poetry; so to that end, as you log in your find, we ask that you publish one of your favorite or preferably original short poems in the log entry. They could be as literary as Quoth the Raven, Nevermore.... or as fun and simple as Roses are Red....
Please include at least one verse of your original or favorite poem to share with other lovers of poetry.
We start you off with the poem that inspired this cache, and hope you can sit at the cache site and be as inspired as we were.
TREES
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lies with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
Sergeant Joyce Kilmer 1886-1918 K.I.A.
The cache is in a small green peanut butter jar, containing a log book for short on the spot inspired poetry, and room for a few small items to trade. Maybe an ink pen would be a good trade item?
