This three-part series of caches is dedicated to our favorite scary books that we read as children. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark always had the spookiest tales, but what was even creepier were the illustrations that went with the stories. Some of the images kept us up at night and we could not get them out of our heads! Some of you may recall these books. There were three in the series and they came out in the 80's and early 90's. They were written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell.
Permission granted by the Cedar Rapids Parks Dept. Cedar River Trail hours are 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM, and there may be a little bushwhacking required. We hope you enjoy finding these creepy caches, and we dare you to find them in the dark!
(Within the posted hours of course, and preferably not alone. Hunt these caches at your own risk.)
