Geocache Description:

Not so difficult to find if you use your mind.

Buena Suerte!

ENGLISH

Welcome to another cache, this time in the town of Guayama, “La Cuidad de los Brujos”. The place is extremely peaceful, to clear your mind of every day stress, go fishing or simply take a walk. The cache this not very far from the main road so you won’t need to walk a lot but you should enjoy a beautiful view created by man. The Carite Reservoir was built in the 1913, in the ward of Carite in the municipality of Guayama. The Lake covers an area of 123.8 hectares and its original capacity was of 13.9 cubic hectameters. It is supplied with water of “Río La Plata” and some other tributary creeks. The water is used for irrigation, generation of electricity and as supply of drinking water. You can fish in the lake species of fish such as: bass, sunfish, catfish, and “tilapias”.

Do not forget to pass by the office of administration of Carite Lake Village to take their brochure of the area. In this place they have built many villages in the skirt of the mountain looking at toward the lake. They are rented during the week or weekends. The place is beautiful and good to be relaxed and enjoy a good deserved rest. The lady at reception told me that there is access 24 hours but there is guard, so recommend you coming during day hours before 5pm since after that hour they are going to ask you toward where are you going inside the facilities. Good Luck!
