Please note: this is a terrain 5 event.
You will need a boat to attend this
event.
So drag your kayak, canoe or rubber dingy and come together with
other cachers to enjoy the beauty of Sand Lake.
This is an informal event where we will meet at Sand Lake Park,
and launch from there. It is about a 1.5 km paddle to Rock Island
where we will meet for a picnic lunch, exchange stories, trade
trackables, and enjoy the beauty of this small island. One of the
locals we met there told us that it is perfect for cliff jumping.
Hmmm...I think I'll let someone else go first!
Please note: on the way into the Sand Lake
Park (where we plan to launch from), there is a HUGE sign saying
that pets are NOT allowed in the park. I have
spoken with the Rideau Lakes office about this. Since we are not
staying in the park and only launching from there, it is not a
problem to bring your dog to the park as long as they remain on
leash until you get into the canoe.
