Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 7th Annual Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2010, a geocaching game placed by MiGO members in partnership with the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. In order to complete the series, you will need to find the 11 caches hidden in the different Metroparks.

Inside the cover of each Geocache you will find two words. These are to be placed on the appropriate spaces of a crossword puzzle found on the Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2010 Brochure found here.  We will be holding a geocachers picnic at Willow Metropark on September 11th.  Watch the Metroparks Geocaching Adventure 2010 Picnic Page for more details.

The cache is located less than 30 feet from the trail so bushwhacking further than that is not necessary and is discouraged to reduce impact on the environment.


Wolcott Mill Metropark is a perfect place to rest your mind from our fast paced everyday world. You can wander the wooded hills above the Mill Race. You can wander along the Clinton River on the Mother Earth Trail. You can wander the grasslands of the Settlers Trail. You can wander in the sunshine or in the wooded shade. You can hear a variety of birds and bugs. Just start down a trail and wander. Soon you'll be feeling lighter and more connected the beautiful nature all around you.


The Mill, its grain grinding machinery and exhibits offer a rare look at our past. Mills like this one once dotted Michigan's countryside. Today, only a few remain. Built in 1847, the Mill operated until 1967. Interpretive staff give tours by appointment, and conduct programs on most weekends throughout the year.

NO ROADSIDE PARKING

This cache is a 4" x4" snap lock container, not far off a common trail. It should be a fairly simple find, if you consider common hiding places. Enjoy!

This cache is located within Wolcott Mill Metropark, a part of the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority park system. A Metropark Vehicle Entry Permit is required: Annual Permit $25. Senior Permit $15. Daily Permit $5.
