NEW CACHE DESCRIPTION
So... this was a pretty cool cache when I first hid it, but
times have chanced and I'm not sure this concept really works in
the current geocaching climate. I don't want to archive it, because
it's still a fun little video-puzzle and is a very nice location
for a cache, but the process to solve the puzzle is different than
it used to be:
-You used to have to find a CD and put it in your computer to
start working on this cache... Now, the link to the video that was
on the CD can be found in the original cache description
below.
-The Key used to be hidden at the starting coordinates. Now
(temporarily), the key is hidden directly west of the final
location, in an obvious and easy to find spot.
-The cache container used to be a lockbox... This has now been
replaced with a much more waterproof container, but you'll still
need to solve the puzzle to find the cache and you'll still need
the key to access the log book. -Old version or new, hopefully
people still enjoy the Rogue Geocache.
OLD CACHE DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS
The cache container is a Brinks security box (see photos below).
The posted coordinates will take you to an easy to find key that
will open the security box's lock. So now all you have to do is
figure out where the security box is located and take the key there
to open the cache. Piece of cake!
But wait, how are you going to figure out where the security box
is? Well, that's easy - The final coordinates are posted
here.
Ooops. I password protected that file and silly me forgets what
the password is! No worries, I put a really good hint for the
password on a CD. So all you have to do is find the CD, pop it in a
computer, and then find the password so you can open the file so
you can find the coordinates of the security box so you can take
the key to the security box and then you can open the security box
and log a find for this crazy Rogue Geocache. Whew!
Uh oh. You're not going to believe this... Now I can't seem to
find the CD! I know I put it in a cache around here somewhere, but
I can't seem to remember which one...................
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find a Rogue
Geocache CD. I have already hidden more than one of these CDs (and
I will be hiding more over time), but I'm not going to tell you how
many CDs there are or where they are located. Right now, they are
all in Brevard county caches. Find a CD, pop it in your computer,
and figure out the password to the file above. Open the file, get
the final coordinates, and off you go!
The rules:
1. When you find a CD, please mention it in the log for the cache
where you found it. You'll be the envy of all your peers!
2. After you are done with the CD, please place it in another
cache, but do NOT mention the CD in your log for that cache. You
can put the CD in any cache anywhere in the world, but Brevard
county is preferred. I will also request that you don't put the CD
in the very next cache you find (this will make it harder for
someone to "follow you" to get the CD). I would prefer if you
placed it in a cache you had done previously, or better yet, a
brand new cache that you are about to hide. These CDs make nice FTF
bonuses - If you do decide to use a CD as a FTF Prize, of course
you can mention that in your description.
3. After you rehide the CD, please email me and let me know what
cache it's in. I'm going to do my best to keep track of them.
4. Do not give the CD to anyone.
5. Do not tell anyone (except me) where you put the CD.
6. Do not tell anyone what is on the CD. You can tell them how
great it is and how much you love it, but let the contents (and the
password) be a surprise.
You get the idea - Log it when you find one, rehide it secretly,
and let me know where it is ASAP.
The difficulty rating for this cache is mostly because you have
to find a CD. Once you find one, you should be able to progress
through the rest of the process fairly easily. The terrain is a
very nice trail until the last 50 feet or so, where you might need
to do some very light bushwhacking.
Please do not remove the key from it's
location until you have the final coordinates in hand. As much as I
know you want it to, I promise you the key will not unlock the
mystery of the elusive CDs!
The original key has gone missing three times
now. If this happens again when you are there, fear not - I put a
copy in the vicinity (west) of the final cache.
The original cache contents include: Binoculars, a Seabiscuit
book, four decks of cards, a few poker chips, some AA batteries, a
Beanie Baby snake, a logbook and a single use camera. Please sign
the log and then take a picture or two or three of yourself
- the pics will be displayed below. This cache also marks the
launching of - what else - the Rogue
Geocoin, and the FTF prize is a fancy schmancy Geocaching.com
hat. You know you want it.
Happy Hunting!
P.S. A special thanks goes out to daveyrosa. I couldn't have
created this cache without them - in particular, the CDs. You'll
see.
P.P.S. If you've read this far, congratulations, this cache is
about to get a whole lot easier for you. The CDs are pretty much
out of circulation these days, but here is the
video that would autoplay when you found one and popped it into
a computer.

That's the end of the first camera's pics. It's been replaced
with a new one (which has since been muggled), so I guess that's
the end of the photos.
