Geocache Description:


Sasame river is a artificial river. In old times, there were filled with bad smell because of dirty living drainage, and both shores of this river were made of concrete. But now, Sasame river is beginning to reborn. It's shores has been remaked to natural shape, and drainage of the city was well constructed. Then recently the wild birds such as white heron and also kingfisher were seen near the stream.
This cache has been hidden along the Sasame river stroll path. Please enjoy comfortable stream of the river while cache hunting. The ground of hiding spot is not flat. Please watch your step carefully, and I recommend to bring a flashlight for hunting.
It takes about 15 minutes on foot from JR Kita-toda Station. There is a car articles shop "YellowHat" in the vicinity. You can also enjoy shopping.

笹目川はさいたま市と戸田市内の市街地を流れる人工の都市河川です。かつての笹目川は生活排水が流れ込むうえに、護岸をコンクリートで覆われて異臭漂うドブ川になっていました。しかしその後、川岸を自然の形に戻したうえで荒川から取水された水を循環させ、清流復活への試みが始まりました。そのため、今ではシラサギやカワセミが目撃されるまでになりましたが、まだまだ水は汚れているので浄化の途上といえるでしょう。
このキャッシュは、自然回帰への取り組みの一環として整備された笹目川遊歩道の一角に隠してあります。隠し場所は土手の斜面にあたり足元がよくないので注意してください。また、探索時はライトが必須です。
現地まではJR埼京線、北戸田駅から徒歩15分ほど。すぐ近くにカー用品店のイエローハットがあるので、クルマの方は買い物のついでにどうぞ。
