Geocache Description:

Another pet cache in Vernon Marsh, this one is dedicated to our teenage Labsdale, Barkley. This one is located WAY down the hill from Carson's Cache and is a significant hike, especially in the snow. There is parking available off Hwy. I and there can be hunters in the area. ***Barkley passed this year, 2015...in my arms and on her 16 1/2 birthday. Our sweet girl is missed! 3/12/24 Mr. Grapes replaced container, happy caching!

Another pet cache in Vernon Marsh, this one is dedicated to our teenage Labsdale, Barkley. This is probably the hardest walk of the bunch, it is uphill coming back and will get your heart rate going, especially in the snow. Barkley is a dog of many nicknames, Barkles, Broccol-nator and Labasaurus, to name a few. But she is most known for saving her previous owner's life when he wandered outside in the middle of a freezing February night in MN (he had Alzheimer's and got disoriented). Had she not alerted a house-guest, he would have froze to death! As Barkley is now 16+ yrs. old, she enjoys chill-axin and being anywhere her "mom" is. ***Barkley passed this year, 2015...in my arms and on her 16 1/2 birthday. Our sweet girl is missed! 3/12/24 replaced container over the weekend, happy caching! No hint is needed. There can be hunters in the area, dogs can be off-lead during certain times of the year and there is parking off Hwy. I. DNR form 2500-118 has been submitted for permission to hide this cache on DNR land.
