Batteries not included? Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Warnings before you start:

  • This is a nightcache.
  • 25km, 10 hours, not a walk in the park!
  • In this area hunting is not prohibited, therefore ALWAYS leave a light on for your safety.
  • Several parts have bad reception.
  • Don’t try this cache alone!
  • Some waypoints are battery/weather-dependent. In case one or two wp’s don’t work, a checksum might solve that problem at the end.

Necessary Tools:

- GPS
- Mobile phone (with the ability to call abroad)
- Strong flashlight (preferably for every member)
- Bicycle pump applicable for this valve:
- Measure tape (2 m)
- Dictionary (English to your home language)?
- Spare batteries
- Food/drinks
- Mountaineering boots
- Pencil

Hints:

  • For the best reflecting result, keep your flashlight as close to your eyes as possible.
  • At every Wp you will find at least one variable and its value. You need them to find the cache.
  • Only the last 4 digits of every ordinate are displayed (the rest remains the same).
  • Some knowledge about the NATO-phonetic alphabet might be useful.

Start

Update 21 feb 2008: Box is stolen again. New box is hidden at 32 U 295274 5679331 (Fallen tree, under reflector)
Take your cache-description for BNI and Sidekick. Then go to the parking at the coordinates mentioned above and start!

Wp1

Wp1 doesn't exist anymore. Go directly to Wp2 and use the checksum.
Before Wp1 was gone, you should find Wp2 at 1200 meters in direction 9,0° (TN) from Wp1.

Wp2

Standing at this crossing you can see a conspicuous object:

  • Look for the second variable at the back, at the back of the O-reflector.

Good Luck!

Counter

(In case Wp14 has technical problems, the information can be found 618m, direction 255° at a twisted oak on a little hill)
