This "park" was probably too small to put a house on. It has a bench, an odd sculpture/marker and not much else. This cache will certainly increase the usage of this park as I can't recall ever seeing anyone sitting on the bench or using the park in any other way. This park and the nearby houses were hit hard during Hurricane Irene when the Whippany River flooded all the way across Rt. 10 and in some cases have not been restored. The fence and landscaping needed to be replaced after the flooding. I've been told by cacher Lego Maniacs that there briefly was a bust of an Whippanong Indian here but it was stolen within weeks of it being placed here.
Closest parking is near the Whippany Diner, use the provided parking coords. Please provide your opinion on what the marker is in your log entry.
This cache is part of the “Tiny Often Empty Park Tour”. Please visit the cache that started it all. It’s called "Tiny Often Empty Park (#1): North Brunswick, NJ” (GCR1V3)" to see the latest Tiny Park count and see how you can add your own cache to the series.
