Located along remote section of the Palmetto Trail. It is primarily
designed to give you a good taste of this section of the trail.
Expect to walk 5 miles round trip. Plus a challenge finding the
prize!
Parking for this section of the trail can be found at N33° 49.061,
W080° 33.053. Look for the trail signs and be on your way. At N33°
50.021, W080° 33.701 you will find a rest area under a nice shed.
Perfect place for water break.
From here going gets a little, shall I say, more interesting. Watch
for orange streamers and orange paint on trees to help keep you on
the trail. Plan for plenty of flying creatures and keep your eyes
open for reptiles or creatures of any type. This is a fairly remote
area.
Cache has been moved after it was taken in January 2003. New
container, contents and hopefully a location where it will be
safe.
Update 12/23/2011 Cache was destroyed by hunters. Thanks to the
effort and generosity of StomperSwamp the cache has been repaired
and placed in a newer, possibly more challenging location. Some
things get better with age! Enjoy!!
