Welcome to Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park! Since there was another cache in this area that offered great views of Oyster Bay that was recently archived, I thought I'd put another one in the area. The container and hide is different! Enjoy the hunt and the views!
This park has been a work in progress for quite some time. I work nearby, so I've been watching it's progress. It appears to be finally completed. The park itself has a newly refurbished marina, beach area, playground for the kids, picnic area, an area you can fish from and enjoy the beautiful views of the bay at anytime of the year. Nearby there is a railroad museum, which is still a work in progress. I know there has numerous meetings regarding the placement of a carousel in the park as well.
The park is open during daylight hours and it's most likely for residents of Oyster Bay during the summer season. But, as of this time there is free access to park. There are 2 parking areas, one near my Beekman's Beach caches at the end of Larabee Avenue (you can park in the Beekman's lot and not pay a fee at anytime) and the other is located at the end of South Street, aka Rt. 106N (make the last left turn on the street to access this park entrance.) You could also park near the Oyster Bay Post Office and walk into the park, just north of the Post Office, there is a gate there.
The cache itself is now a large prescription bottle and can be found in a very high muggle area, so stealth is imperative! Be sure to replace it exactly as found to prevent muggles from finding it! I went there during the day, on a day when the weather wasn't so nice and there was no one in the park! Make sure you sign the logbook and enjoy the views!
