Geocache Description:

Should be a quick park and grab. The cache is located at the edge of a parking lot along the woods.

This was not a parking lot when I was a kid. Back when I was growing up, in the 70's and 80's this was a small patch of woods with really cool trails to ride your BMX bike. I spent hours, upon hours here. If I wasn't at home you could bet I was here.

The cache is located very close to what used to be called "suicide hill". It was a hill steep enough that I could barely climb it when I was young. It was about 20 feet wide at the top and got smaller towards the bottom. After riding down it the trail went over a rise and went down to about 4 feet wide, then looped around to the left to a more gradual ascent to bring you back to where you began. Neighborhood kids would line up 10 across at the top and race down it and back around to the top. No helmets, no pads. Needless to say, that hill sent a lot of kids home bloody and crying.

Back then Carvel was the anchor store in this strip mall. There was a tall sign with two huge ice cream cones on top with Carvel writen in big letters underneath. The rest of the stores were listed below that in smaller writing. Almost all the stores have changed since then. Only a few still remain, Carvel being one of them.

Please don't over tighten the lid.

FTF gets a travel bug tag.

Congratulations to "DP&EM" for FTF
