Geocache Description:

Te Rohe Potae, the area of the hat.
An easy puzzle cache.

The listed coordinates for this cache will take you to a plaque and small statue commemorating one bowler hat that served a very special purpose in negotiating the land division and peace process of the King Country. Read the story here on site.

 

Finding the cache.

Read through the very interesting background to this memorial listed on the plaque, then look for the dates below within the text to calculate the final location.

The final cache is at S 38° 11.0AA E 175° 12.7BB

 

Cache is a small black Bison tube hooked around a branch of a bush.

This is a very exposed cache, please be inconspicuous in your search and retrieval, and put it back deep in the shrub.
