Geocache Description:

In the Dysynni Valley below Cadair Idris lies Birds Rock (Craig yr Aderyn).

The cache is set near the summit of Birds Rock, an Iron Age Fort and home to a breeding colony of cormorants.
The birds return back to the rock each evening 60 - 90 minutes before sunset.

Of interest is the interpretive board at the base of the Rock!
Lay-by parking is at OS SH651076 just before Llanllyda Farm.
The cache will take around 30 minutes to reach!

Cross the stile and continue up a rough track with a stone wall on your left.
Where the wall ends, take the grassy slope heading in a westerly direction.

After visiting the cache,an easy climb to the summit above will be rewarded with outstanding views!

If time allows, do visit Castell y Bere, Castle of the Welsh princes OS SH669086 and The Dysynni Map ( 3D needlework) in the Mary Jones Chapel Llanfinangely y Pennant OS SH671089 both of which are close-by.
