The 40 acre City Lake Natural Area is located on Bridgeway Drive
in Cookeville and is mostly preserved in or restored to its natural
state, with some improvements to help accessibility. The park is a
favorite area with fishermen as they can catch catfish, bass and
bream. Cookeville's first water treatment facility was constructed
here but has been decommissioned for many years. Some of its
structures still remain.
The cache is placed along the Norma R Mitchell Trail that ends
at a small scenic overlook. From the overlook, you will have to
scamper 30 or so feet up to the cache location. The cache itself is
a clear plastic Lock-N-Lock container with room for small trade
items. Please place the cache back as you found it to ensure
that it is there for future visitors. Thanks.
