Geocache Description:

A unique sight in town…

This cache is NOT at the coords listed above. It is actually about 3 miles away, but you must first solve a small historical puzzle to locate it.

At the listed cords there is a marker with a date on it. There is a wide shoulder here, you should not have to leave your car to see it (nor do I recommend it, especially with children.) Use that date in a MMDDYYYY format, then substitute them into ABCDEFGH. The final location can be found by filling in the following:

N 39 31.(A+F) (F) (G)
W 076 20.(F) (F-H) (A+C+D+H)

The final location is a sculpture requisitioned by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission and installed in 2009. James Hill of Salisbury (Chair of the Art Department at Salisbury U.) won the RFP and characterized his piece as “symbolizing the heritage of religious freedom granted to colonial citizens of Maryland by Cecil Calvert, the second Lord Baltimore in 1657. He believed that citizens of different faiths should be able to live together in peace.”

Regardless of your background, you will probably find this an interesting and beautiful structure.

Parking is available in a lot at the final location. Please be sure to replace the cache container exactly as you found it - accessable for the next cacher.

I thought this would have make a great virtual cache, but since they are no longer an option, I'll set out a virtual-like challenge to those who want to go the extra mile. To claim bonus caching karma, send your answers to the three following questions to the cache hider. Please do not reveal the answers in your post.

1) What are the four words on the sculpture near the cache?
2) From where were they taken?
3) What is the name of the homested museum next door?

Good luck, and have fun checking out the sites in downtown Bel Air!
