This micro cache is located in Carkeek Park. The closest parking to the cache, if the road is open, is at N 47 42.688, W 122 22.717, although the cache is accessible via several trails from any of Carkeek's parking areas.
This cache is located along the South Bluff Trail. If you park in the nearest lot, you'll proceed across the model plane launch area to find the South Bluff Trail entrance.
You are looking for a large tree that is also hollowed out into a hideaway at its base. The cache is a black bison tube. There is no need for bushwacking. Please remember to bring along your own pencil or pen to sign the log sheet, and re-hide the cache as you found it.
Be sure to explore the inside of the tree after you retrieve the cache; in fact, this natural hideout provides a convenient place to sign the log sheet unnoticed. The view of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and the passing trains are also worth a few moments of reflective repose.
