How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are for the chirp wireless beacon. This cache is accessible to everyone even without a compatible device. Visit the two waypoints below marked "QUES01" and "QUES02" and answer the questions to find the final cache if the chirp will not work for you.

This cache offers two ways to reach the final. One method offers the opportunity to visit two waypoints listed below, and answer questions to determine the final coordinates, and the other method requires the use of a compatible device to find the final. If you choose this method, please ensure your GPS supports it and the latest update is downloaded. If you would like to learn about the chirp, please search "chirp wireless beacon" on the internet. When you arrive at the posted coordinates, your GPS should detect a signal providing the coordinates for the final stage.

Hockey Day in Canada is an annual broadcast to celebrate hockey in Canada. It is organized by Sportsnet/CBC featuring Ron MacLean (and formerly Don Cherry) from Hockey Night in Canada. It is a day in which all Canadian hockey teams are in action, with most matchups against another Canadian opponent. On February 12th, 2011, the 11th annual Hockey Day in Canada was held in Whitehorse, Yukon.

The cache is an ammo can and once you open it, you will have to search for the log. In hockey, you get two points for a win, and one for an OT/SO loss. In this case, you can get up to 10 points. Each container has a little item in it, but one also has the log. Count how many containers you have to search to find the log. You can indicate your achievement when logging your find online. The Durham Regional Forest is home to many other caches that you can find on your trip here.
