Geocache Description:

Cache is located in an area known as riverbottom forest. Fairly nice trails in the area. Very scenic and sheltered.

Best parking in summer, fall, spring: street just outside St. Norbert Cemetery. Walk through the cemetery to the large cross and then follow a short trail behind it. Many of you have heard the tale of ROBIN Hood (an outlaw) and his Merry Men who hid in Sherwood Forest, hiding up in the trees, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. How many of you have heard of Louis Riel (an outlaw) and his Metis Men? This cache is hidden in a very historic area. Down at the far end of a nearby street, rue Campeau, and across the river is the place where Riel blocked the Pembina Trail and defended the Red River Colony from being overtaken by Federal representatives! This cache is located in what locals affectionately call Sherwood Forest (owned by the City of Winnipeg) in St. Norbert. It is our tribute to the man who is known both as an infamous outlaw and as a founding father of Manitoba. A clue or two are hidden in the above write-up but you may only recognize the hints upon seeing the cache. Spoilers will be deleted to keep the cache a bit of a challenge.
*** Friendly Reminder ***
