The 4.5 Terrain rating is based on the trail to Grizzly Lake from St. Elmo. This is a serious 4X4 trail not for inexperienced drivers or most stock SUVs. Hiking the 4X4 track is rocky and gains about 1200 ft in 2.8 miles. The reward is a beautiful and remote mountain lake at over 11,000 ft. I doubt this area is open more that a few months each year.
