Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed for the First State Challenge 2013 sponsored by Delaware Geocachers! Although the challenge has ended, this cache is still available to be found!!

Cache Details:
The Cache is located at the Dover Fire School with their permission. (Steven Martin, Deputy Director , Chuck Bradley, Maintenance Supervisor, also State Fire Marshal Grover Ingle) If anyone questions you refer them to either of these people.

Description:
Since 1968 the Delaware State Fire School has been providing Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical training, and educating the public on fire safely. The training building houses administrative offices, class rooms, and a full service cafeteria The facility can accommodate approximately 700 people for trainings and workshops. The drill grounds have a network of roadways that connect various training sites, including a 2 1/2 story building that simulates a commercial or industrial building and a Breathing Apparatus Building that offers training to firefighters in the use of breathing apparatus under actual smoke and darkness conditions.

The school offers extensive course catalogs and a year round training schedule, including some online training. The school is accredited by the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications and the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress to offer certification in all levels of Fire Fighting, Fire Officers and Inspectors, Hazardous Materials, and Rescue Technicians.
