Geocache Description:

Just off a well-marked trail in a State park with a spectacular waterfall. This is the oldest active geocache in Madison County!

Although many people visit this park each year, you’ll find the cache in a quieter area away from the main falls, on a trail created in 1982 by folks from Skaneateles (even though this park is no where near Skaneateles!).

To get to the cache, you’ll traverse a small streambed and be treated to views of beautiful wooded ravines. It’s a nice place for a picnic.

There’s an extensive network of trails beyond the cache – after you find the cache, continue on the trail and take a right where it intersects with another trail for a beautiful hike in a peaceful part of the park. Enjoy!

Note: We adopted this cache from Bob and Laura on 9 November 2004 and replaced and restocked the container (with nice things for adventurers of all ages) on 11 November 2004. The cache is in the same location, but in much better shape! NYSOPRHP Permit # CF-16-01.
