Geocache Description:

This tree fell. Another Champion has not been named.

Champion Trees are the biggest, tallest and best example of a tree in a state and the nation. It takes into account the circumference, the crown spread and height using a formula and getting a bigness index. This one is located at a private residence's front yard in Blytheville. The cache is across the street. Please just observe it from across the street at the cache site. You cannot miss it. Its circumference is 276", height is 112', crown spread is 110', bigness index is 414.

The national champion in Chesapeake, VA is 301" circumference, 131' high, crown spread is 130' for a bigness index of 465. These measurements were made August of last year. If you think you know of a bigger one then contact the AR Forestry Commission.
