The coordinates are not for the cache they are for the Calleva Arm in Silchester well it is a roman puzzle.
I have been trying to solve a number of difficult puzzles recently and needed a bit of help so I decided I would like to set a puzzle that anyone can do just a bit of research on the internet needed. My daughter is taking A level ancient History so she wrote the story.
Britain known as Britannia to the Romans had been a goal for several Roman Emperors. Emperor Claudius managed to stake his claim on Britain; he sent an invasion force led by Aulus Plautius across the channel in RP AD.
Claudius himself followed later with reinforcements.
In S8 AD a new roman Governor Quintus Veranius Nepos finally crushed the Silures and pacified the region with a network of roads and garrisons.
The next major event on this little rock occurred when King Prastagus of the Iceni died leaving his kingdom to his wife Boudicca. The Romans weren’t having that and so had Boudicca and her daughters flogged and raped. Boudicca, understandably mad at the Romans led a revolt in AD TM or TN.Boudicca managed to level the towns of Colchester, St Albans and London until reinforcements from Rome enabled the governor Suetonius to crush the rebels.
Unfortunately in 6Z AD there was more trouble as Rome was in civil war. Venutius of the Brigantes took his chance and was able to seize control of the north of the country, until the new Emperor Vespasian. Even then it took his first 2 governors to sort out problems with the Brigantes and another tribe the Silures (who funnily enough didn’t like being ruled by the Romans).
In W7 AD Julius Agricola was sent to the province and spent the following 7 years campaigning in north Wales and north Scotland bringing much of Britain under control...until Emperor Domitian pulled him back in X4 AD needing some men for his campaign in Dacia (central-east Europe) which wasn’t going too well. Being quite volatile future emperor’s always had a large number of soldiers stationed on the Island as the Brits continued to cause trouble for the Romans until around R01 AD when the Romans withdrew...and then the barbarians attacked. Rule Britannia!
