Geocache Description:

Welcome to Buddy Butts Park. Come see the whole place.

This cache is for Buddy Butts who worked for the city of Jackson Ms. Parks and Maintenance Dept. as a Supervisor at the time of his death, 1980.
He was working at the park on McRaven Road at the site of the Ms River Basin Model in Clinton. Buddy had built soccer fields and had done a lot of the grading and bulldozing for the park. Because of his hard work and dedication to the project, the park was named Buddy Butts Park in memory of him.
Buddy was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of the Raymond Rd. Baptiste Church and his hobbies were hunting and fishing. Buddy Butts passed on Nov.21, 1980 from melanoma cancer.
We should always be grateful to Buddy for the fine park he created for the kids.
