Geocache Description:

Come one come all!!  Let's give back to one of our Coachella Valley treasures! smiley

Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve

DATE:   April 25, 2015

TIME:    8:00am to 10:00am

Look for a blue canopy and check in table at the GZ located in a view point area along the road. There is a wide flat area for parking.

We are working with the Center for Natural Lands Management to clean up trash that has blown into the preserve.  The area to be cleaned up is in a wash off the road and seems to be a spot that gets a lot of trash dumped.  Wear sturdy shoes, bring gloves, sunscreen, hat, water and be ready for some community spirit!  For safety concerns we will not be cleaning up along the highway but only within the preserve.

Attending this CITO will also get you the coveted Geocaching virtual souvenir for Earth Day! A minimum of 1 hour is required for the virtual souvenir but you are welcome to stay the entire time or break off to tour the Oasis.  Space is limited so PLEASE make sure to say you are attending on the event page! There will be a raffle for participants too!!!

This delightful haven has no user fees, though donations are greatly appreciated.  Explore the Preserve and what it has to offer by visiting the pages on this website, then head over to the Oasis and be even more pleasantly surprised.

Enjoy picnicking, hiking and our rustic visitor Center, the "Palm House." On the northern side of the Coachella Valley, nestled at the feet of the Indio Hills, the Coachella Valley Preserve is "The Old West" just minutes from Palm Springs, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indio and other desert cities. Enjoy some of the 20,000+ acres of desert wilderness, wildlife and trails.
