ENTROPY = 1) Inevitable and steady decline or deterioration of a system or society. 2) Tendency for all matter and energy to evolve toward a state of inert uniformity.
About 1.5 miles from the parking lot (N 37 24.654, W 122 15.660), and near the intersection of two trails, this place once fed the mansion, fields, and the flume of a sawmill of the former estate of the coffee magnet, Folger. He is credited with developing the first hydro electrical power system (1904) in this part of California. This place, however, is an apt demonstration of the process of ENTROPY. While at the coordinates, you can learn of the site’s history, and also some ecological information about the current inhabitants.
As you learn, you are within eight feet of your goal. Look closely. You don’t have to dig through the bushes and logs, but you do have to be wary. One never knows what one might find in these places. There’s no poison oak to deal with, but be careful of other creatures that may be lurking about.
The cache container is a black/brown plastic cylinder 3.5 inches by 7 inches. To add a bit of an incentive, there is a travel bug in there awaiting the first sucessful seeker. Enjoy!
