Geocache Description:

The cache is located in Charles Park, Oceanport, NJ.

Venus is the second planet in the solar system. It is named for the Ancient Roman goddess Venus, who was based upon the Ancient Greek goddess Aphrodite. Aphrodite was the goddess of love and romance. She was born from the sea, and her representative animals are the swan and the sparrow. Venus is often the brightest object (besides the sun) low in the western skies just before sunset.

Charles park ties these ideas together. The river is a salt water tidal river that flows into the sea. If you are lucky, you can spot swans, sparrows, and other birds here. And the park also offers a nice view of the western horizon, and thereby Venus.

The cache is a magnetic keybox. It is painted to blend in with its surroundings. Please be stealthy, as there are homes near the park. Please place the cache back as you have found it, so that it can survive. When placing the cache back, make sure about half the cach is snuggly between the pipes and metal, otherwise this cache will fall and be muggled...the magnets will not work here! The cache contains a small logsheet in a plastic ziploc bag. No pencil here, so bring your own!

The park is usually fairly empty, but still keep an eye out for wiley muggles!

Oh, and one last noteworthy bit of information. The symbol taped to the inside of the lid may come into play to help you find "Eris", the last (12th of 12) of the planet caches. Since many have not fared well, I have included a photo of all the symbols on the page for "Eris". Please reference it if the symbol has become damaged/missing in a few of the planets.

Enjoy!
