Weak GPS signal, press "OK" to continue... Your GPS reciever may give you a message similar to this on the hunt for our .50 cal ammo can. It's on hunts like this that I'm glad I've got Finn McCool's old Boy Scout compass (and have a vague idea on how to use it!). There's been a few times where TinyMoon and I gave up altogether on our Garmin and navigated with just Dad's trusty old Silva (and it was night-time at that!) As for the waterfalls, well...I used to ride my Yamaha ATV here years ago along the "raging" creek, complete with many small waterfalls. When I hiked up here with TinyMoon recently to show her, it was all but dried up! The "raging creek" is now a "babbling brook". It seems to come and go these days, so as you hike along the creekbed to our cache you may be greeted by a dry rocky creekbed or a happy bubbling little stream! Excellent parking is available behind Lorenzo's Wholesale Foods and the Taunton Fire Dept., they share the lot and the entrance is in between the 2 bldgs.Use waypoint:N 43.01.581 W 76.13.074 The entrance to the trail can be seen across the big meadow from here.Special Note: The watch that belonged to TinyMoon that was accidentally left behind in the cache has been retrieved. Thanx to the cachers who put it in a zip-lock baggy for us!
