This event is a group cache in the Brandon Hills area. As far as
we know, this will be the first event of this type in the area. The
cache rating was based on four hours of hiking in the Brandon Hills
looking for hidden containers.
The Brandon Hills recreation area has in excess of 15 good
caches. The area is excellent for hiking, biking and in the winter,
cross-country skiing. Geokids and geopets are more than welcome to
join in on the fun!
The listed coordinates are for the parking area. The proposed
itinerary is as follows:
- 10 AM: Meet at listed coordinates and
organize
- 10 to 2: Caching the Hills!!!
So how easy is that? We will have printed lists of all caches in
the Hills with their GC numbers and coordinates to hand out to
participants. Participants are NOT required to spend the
whole four hours caching. Walk or cycle at your own pace and
comfort level. We will probably split into two or more groups
(depending on the number of participants) and go separate
directions. The 2 PM finish time is just a guideline as well. Those
who want to stay longer may certainly do so.
Please ensure you bring plenty of
WATER with you! Also,
note that we are planning to be there over the noon hour. Pack a
small trail lunch or stop at a Subway on the way out because we
will be eating on the trail!
NOTE: There will not be a gathering for dinner after the
caching event as I have some inside information that a SECOND event
is to be scheduled for Brandon that evening!!!
UPDATE!! Here is the
LINK to the evening event.
RAIN DATE
