The event coordinates will bring you to the center of George Bush Park. This park is loaded with caches so if you are a new cacher or an experienced cacher come out to George Bush Park to discuss caching adventures, tips on what to do in certain situations, collaborate ideas on how to hide new and unique caches, or just to say hi and enjoy the park.
The event will begin at 7:30am and last til around 8:00am but you are always welcome to stick around after the event to continue your conversation or to meet other cachers that you may not have been able get to during the event time. So come on out and enjoy a fun filled day in GBP.
The event itself is kid friendly, pet friendly and wheelchair accessible.
However, After the event a group will be working on the nearby TEXAS series. This series is a challenge to geocachers as this area will require an approximate 11 mile hike, in some flat, but thorny terrain. There are wild animals to be seen, such as snakes, raccoons, possum, armadillos, deer, feral pigs, and if you are extraordinarily lucky, even bobcats. The area is a flood plain reservoir, so depending on the time of year, it can be extremely wet. If it's wet, bring waders and snake boots. If it's dry, it can be extremely thorny, so wear pants and snake boots. If it's the one day out of the year in Houston that has perfect weather, then enjoy yourself, bring water and of course... snake boots.
If you plan on joining in on the group, I would recommend leaving the kids and pets at home. The attributes on this event page is just some of the things you will encounter on the series.
