Geocache Description:

Please take care when removing the lid as to not damage the camaflage and replace as you found.

Thanks and happy hunting!

CO update 9-16-14, the original cache has gone missing, but a new cache is in place. With a little more time to make the cachetainer, I didn't have to use duct tape to hold on the camo. Please cover with natural material after you hide it. Thanks.

CO update 6/4/15: This one got Muggled again, so it's back to duct tape. The funny thing is they only took the container(which had very realistic camo) and left everything else.

My Dad brought my brother and me here often when we were kids and I have many happy memories being here so I thought I would name the cache in his memory.  He was an adventurous and inventive man and if he were still alive he would love geocaching: thinking of unique ways of hiding them and enjoying finding them.

I was in the park a week ago and thinking it was a city park I hid a micro.  When I got into work I checked on the park and saw that last year this park had become a Metro Park so the micro wouldn't work.  I was back in the area today with a small ready to go and when I pulled into the parking lot I saw 7 police cars and thought, "Maybe not today, something bad has happened."  As I drove by I saw 4 K9 dogs being put through their paces and remembered that this is also the CPD K9 training ground.

I was worried about being Muggled by 7 Policemen and their dogs and didn't think stealth would be enough to go unnoticed.  I thought of how I could get to the cache hide and decided to pretend to be a grumpy old guy cleaning up the park. I parked, put the new cache is a plastic bag, got out and slammed the door.  At least one officer looked over at me as I went over and picked up 2 cans on the ground and put them in the bag with the cache.  It worked; they ignored me the rest of the time I was in the park.

The cache didn't fit well into it's hiding place but I improvised with duct tape and some natural material.

So this one is in the memory of my Dad, who taught me myriad ways to use duct tape and so much more. Thanks Dad.
