Rocky Balboa: I have decided to archive this cache please read on for details:
When this cache was hidden the fenced area mentioned had a large entry gap, which is still there to this day. I found it hard to believe that anyone would find gaining access hard but after a log last week stating a new fence may have been erected I ventured straight out to check - exactly the same as before...
It is very difficult to find permission for an area like this. I have tried to find out who owns the site but with no leads this is almost impossible. It was hidden at a time when permission was not essential and the facts that the area is no more dangerous than a childrens play ground and that accessing the area causes no harm to anyone made me think it would be acceptable. I do not place caches in areas which I believe to be on private property or which would cause danger (without giving prior). I could quite easily, in the space of an hour list 50 caches of this kind that have not gained permission, perhaps they should all now be archived. Please remember this cache has been here for a couple of years and no one other than a person in the house opposite has battered an eyelid.
Finally, my main reason for archiving this cache is the fact that I am tired of recieving emails and logs which make digs at caches and people even slyly. This is supposed to be a friendly game. I listen to advice and comments and you certainly don't see logs from me belittling peoples efforts. I have put a lot into placing caches for people to find in interesting areas and days like this really make me wander why. Perhaps all the interesting caches out there without permission from over the years should be shot down and replaced with 1000 more copse caches where the cache is hidden under a pile of twigs, great fun!!! :).
Thanks to everyone who visited over the time the cache was up and enjoyed looking around an important bit of bucks history and thanks for many of the nice logs written along the way.
Cheers, Dan.
