Fujiduka is a small mound where Mt. Fuji was imitated.
A lot of Fujiduka were made from Edo period to the beginning of the Showa era in the Kanto region as a symbol of the faith of Mt.Fuji.
It was assumed that the same divine grace as the case to climb Mt. Fuji was obtained when climbing the Fujiduka.
There are three Fujiduka in Urayasu.
Todaijima Fuji was rebuilt to a present appearance in around 1929.
It made from a small tomb in precincts.
To pile up the soil, to heap up lava stones, to imitate Mt. Fuji.
Todaijima Fuji is smaller than other Fujiduka in Urayasu.
"Nakamichi Mawari", the trail to round in the hillside in Mt. Fuji was reproduced here.
It is small but has an excellent function.
You can climb this Fujiduka.
Standing on top of fujiduka, people used to command a view of Mt. Fuji.
Stand on the top of Fujiduka, look at the direction of Mt.Fuji(WSW).

富士塚とは富士山を模した人工の山・塚で、江戸時代から昭和初期にかけて、富士信仰のシンボルとして、関東地方に数多く作られました。
富士山のミニチュアである富士塚に登ることで、富士山に登った場合と同じ御利益を得られるとされていました。
浦安には３つの富士塚があります。
当代島富士は、昭和４年(1929年)頃、現在の姿に改築されたと言われています。
元々境内にあった小さな塚に、畑の土を盛り上げ、石を積み上げて富士山を模した形に作り変えました。
浦安の他の富士塚に比べると小型ですが、富士山の中腹を一周する中道まわりも再現されていて、機能性に富んでいます。
この富士塚は今でも登ることができます。
かつては多くの富士塚から富士山を拝むことができたと言われています。
山頂に立って、富士山の方角を見て下さい。
富士山は西南西の方角です。
