Geocache Description:

This cache is a standard ammo box located off a mountain bike trail. You can get there a lot quicker by biking than you can by walking. Bushwacking is an option, but it will only slow you down.

This area has been developed into a Mtn. Bike/Hiking trail park by local volunteers and has a great trail system in it. Its best to park at this location: N35 53.794 W083 57.108. There is another entrance to the park that would be quicker, but the gate stays closed and there is a no parking sign. If you could get someone to drop you off at this other gate it might speed things up for you. The cache is not accessible from Peterson Lane. The trailhead is at the N.E. end of the parking lot along the lakeshore. After a rain, some sections of the trail will be muddy and the Park gate will be closed at night.
There is an active railroad track just North of the park. THERE IS NO NEED TO GO ON THE RR TRACKS. The trail goes a short distance along the lakeshore and then into the woods. There are numerous trails near the cache

Note: this park has had a troubled past (intimate activities) and that caching in groups of 2-3 may be more comfortable. It is by no means a dangerous park. It has experienced a real turn around lately. Mountain Bikers and Geocachers are claiming it back as their park. Help us keep this park a family park!

NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: This cache is hidden in the great outdoors. Welcome to the South! We've got skeeters; we've got chiggers; we've got ticks; we've got ants; we've got snakes and other critters; we've got poison ivy, oak, and sumac; we've got mold and allergens; we've got kudzu and other pesky vines; and boy, have we got briars, brambles, and stickers! Depending on the place you elect to enter the off-trail portion of the hunt, you may very well find these and other denizens of our environment. Please dress accordingly and take adequate precautions whenever you interact with nature. And don't forget to cache in, trash out.
