999 STEPS Traditional Cache
IthacaDoodle: Out for a walk today and picked up this cache - we've had our fun here and 9 months seems an appropriate lifespan for this cache.

A regular (ammo can) cache placed for the 09-09-09 Multi Event: New York.
After contemplating all sorts of thematic "9" motifs - nine circles of hell, dressed to the nines, nine supreme court justices, nine Greek muses - we decided simply to place this cache 999 steps up the trail. The 999 steps represent the fact that this is not a cache and dash, but these are metaphorical steps as the trail was shorter than expected.
An ammo can in the Polson Preserve awaits you after a short hike (1/3 mile) through the maple-beech forest on Snyder Hill in a natural area owned and managed by the Cornell Plantations.
Turn in at the gravel driveway at 1581 Ellis Hollow Road and continue for about 0.2 mile to a wide area along the driveway where you may park (see given parking coords). A track on the right (south) side of the driveway leads to a trail marked with red blazes into the preserve.
