The __________ is the good luck and happiness bird of the
Pennsylvania Dutch. These birds are often very stylized, and used
to decorate marriage and birth certificates, bible fly leaves and
furniture. It was based on the thistle seed loving Goldfinch. They
are often depicted perched on a large heart bursting with tulips,
the heart adds love and the tulips add faith.
