Geocache Description:

Like to make chili? Like to eat chili? Like to watch other people eat chli? Ready for a break from winter?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then make plans now to attend the 2nd Annual Indiana Geocachers Chili Cook off, on Saturday, March 6th, from 1 PM-4PM, and the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 2901 W 200 N, in Greenfield, Indiana.

We have 4 judges who have volunteered their time and effort to make this event one to remember! None of the judges are geocachers (YET!) and all the chili will be numbered so even they won't know who made the chili they're judging, in the interest of fairness.

We'll be awarding prizes in 3 separate categories...most original, spiciest, and best overall chili. This Chili Cookoff is an "anything goes" type of event...you're not held to the CASI guidelines. Originality is encouraged!

By the way, last years winners were Crossphased, who pulled off a double win for the Spiciest and Best Overall, and Bitter/Sweet who took home the trophy for Most Original Chili. Who will win this year?

And...even if you don't want to make a pot of chili, please come anyway and join the fun! It'll be a pitch in lunch. Cups, bowls, plasticware, etc will be provided. If you're able, please bring something for the pitch in...a pack of hot dogs, buns, chips, soda pop, dessert, or whatever you wish!

Here is the schedule for the day:

1:00 Doors open
1:45 Deadline for Chili Cook-off entries to be submitted
2:00 Chili Judging by Celebrity Judges.
2:30 Let's eat!!
3:30 Chili Cookoff Awards Presentation
4:00 Event ends, Clean up.

When you post your "will attend", would you please let us know:

1)If you'll be entering a pot of chili in the cook off.
2)What you think you'd like to bring for the pitch in.

Otterbein UMC has offered their fellowship hall for this event. We'll have a container for donations to the Church for allowing us to use the hall.

And, if anyone has anything they'd like to donate for prizes...please email me separately and let me know.

So...everyone...get those chili recipes ready, and get ready for the Second Annual Indiana Geocachers Chili Cook Off!
