Jerry&Patty: The cache had a nice run. Over 4 years and 300 airplanes to young pilots. But we're out of airplanes and have decided to close this one out. Thanks to all who found it! I'll be out to remove it in a few days and will be sure that any travel bugs get a lift to another cache. Jerry

Located in Montissippi Park, Monticello, Minnesota. Westbound I-94 travelers will need to exit at the Hwy. 25 Monticello exit to reach this cache. Then take County Road 75 west to Hasty to get back on I-94.
Eastbound I-94 travelers can exit at Hasty and take County Road 75 east toward Monticello and the cache. Then take County Road 75 east to Monticello and take Hwy. 25 south to return to I-94.
PLEASE NOTE: We reactivated the cache 6-15-05. It had been stolen in December. There is a lot of activity at the model airport now. We did move it slightly to make it more muggle proof. It's a little further from the trail. Once you find the cache head straight north approx. 50 feet to the model airport.

This is our first cache and it combines an old hobby of flying model airplanes with this relatively new one of geocaching. It's meant to be a good father and son cache. It was very easy to hide and will no doubt be easy to find as well. That's ok because you'll want to spend some time at the model airport watching local radio control pilots fly their airplanes and helicopters. Be sure to pick a sunny day with low winds. That's when the airport is busiest!
The cache contains easy to assemble balsa gliders. Take one per person in your party please as the supply is limited. Also find a log book. Hope you'll take time to leave a message and more importantly hope you'll come back here and leave a message which includes the number of airplanes you've taken. That will help us supply the cache with more.
We suggest parking at N 45 19.535,W 093 49.436 and spending some time in the park. A picnic shelter with tables is available at the model airport if you'd like to pack a snack.
The open land to the north of the modelers pits, picnic shelter and bleachers is ok to use for flying your new gliders however the woods to the north of this field are Xcel Energy property and are off limits!
